Zespri Joins hands with The Mumbai Dabbawalas for the distribution of its newest kiwifruit variety

New Zealand’s Zespri International, the world’s largest kiwifruit marketer, has tied up with the Dabbawalas of Mumbai as an alternate distribution channel for sampling and selling a new kiwifruit variant in the Indian market – The Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit. Zespri was keen on reaching out to these decision makers in a direct yet effective manner and the Mumbai Dabbawalas were the perfect choice.

The Mumbai Dabbawalas have been transporting lunch boxes with six sigma precision for more than 120 years.

Inspired by their efficiency and skillfully executed operations, Zespri International has decided to foray into this venture to induce trials and consequently add another channel for consumers to purchase the product directly via the Mumbai Dabbawalas.

In association with Zespri International, the Mumbai Dabbawalas will be delivering a unique surprise to 5,000 households between Bandra to Andheri - a complimentary Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit along with a spife, a simple device combining a spoon and a knife in order to cut, scoop and enjoy the kiwifruit.

For ease and convenience, consumers can also purchase the Zespri SunGold kiwifruit from the comfort of their homes directly via the Mumbai Dabbawalas.
