SRL Strengthening Outdoor Catering Business Segment

Speciality Restaurants Ltd (SRL), in an effort to strengthen its footprint in the niche outdoor catering segment, has made Mobifeast cater the IPL finals held in Kolkata and already has plans of making its presence felt pan-India. The group, which has well-known brands such as Mainland China, Oh! Calcutta, Machaan and Sigree, is expecting its outdoor catering business to contribute 10-12 per cent to the group’s revenues.

“Mobifeast is being taken pan-India because we have presence in 26 cities of the country. Once established we hope that the contribution by this vertical would be to the tune of 10-12% of the total revenues,” Anjan Chatterjee, Founder and Managing Director, SRL told Express.

Currently operatings 96 outlets in 26 cities, SRL is ready to explore the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) business. In this context, Chatterjee adds, “The QSR category is notches below fine dining category and (its) presence in sections of the pyramid would strategically be beneficial to the organisation.”
