Fruit juice concentrate maker Rasna, which has for decades been associated with fruit drinks, will soon foray into non-fruit-based beverages. Just months after the company diversified into ready-to-drink juices with its Ju-C brand.
Mr. Piruz Khambatta, Chairman and Managing Director, Rasna, said.
"The biggest weakness we have is that we are focusing only on few flavours like orange , mango, lemon and recently, lichee, but there are hundreds of other flavours, so new-age beverages, non-fruit based drinks will be coming soon.”
Rasna, expects to earn revenues of Rs 500 crore from the juice segment alone and is planning to invest close to Rs 40 crore to set up manufacturing units. The unit are to be opened one in South India and another in the East, will make the Ju-C range of products, and the non-fruit-based beverages. The company has already invested about Rs 50 crore and for new a unit in Gujarat and one near Delhi.
