NSDC signs MOU with Assocom to create employment opportunities

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under a Public Private Partnership promoted by the Union Ministry of Finance, Government of India signed an agreement with the Assocom-India Pvt. Ltd. (India’s premier food consulting and skill Education Company) seeking to create new employment opportunities for the youth by providing for quality training in Baking, Milling and Food technology related sectors.

Raj Kapoor, CEO & Managing Director, Assocom-India Pvt. Ltd and Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO, NSDC exchanged the signed copies of the MOU.

Assocom-India along with its Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology (AIBTM) has planned to train more than one lakh people in next 10 years and will provide world class Bakery skills training all over the country, impart knowledge, training and skills in courses of bakery, culinary art, flour milling, event management and allied subjects, creating awareness on information technology and its application in hospitality industry, develop course curriculum to focus on bakery operations, management, product development, entrepreneurship and implementation with inculcation of skills equipping the trainees to find placements and competing in competitive market, provide students with an opportunity to gain world class, hands on experience and training in hospitality as a profession   and Provide state of the art technology and management expertise to enable direct and significant up gradation of skills in the sector.

The collaboration seeks to create new opportunities and training program will focus on fresh students, unskilled workers, to-be entrepreneurs and entrepreneur without formal training, Up-skilling for unskilled workers, to-be entrepreneurs and entrepreneur without formal training and on-site training for working professionals in the targeted sector. The duration of these programs will 2 months to 6 months (100 hours, 150 hours and 250 hours, respectively, for 2 months, 3 months and 6 months courses) for fresh skilling proposals and 80 hours for onsite trainings.

Assocom-India Private Limited has been working in the bakery and patisserie segment for over 14 years. They have conducted workshops, participated in food summits and have undertaken short term skilling ventures for corporate and entrepreneurs. Across these initiatives there have been about 6,435 participants over the last 10 years.
