Le Meredien Hosts Event

Le Meridien Bangalore hosted a unique gathering of farmers, scientists, processors and chefs to celebrate Peppercorns on September 19, 2013. Shyam Mohan, MD and President - India Middle East, Griffith Laboratories welcomed the guests while S Kannan, Executive Director, International Pepper Community addressed guests at the event. The event was conceptualised by Chef Baranidharan of Griffith Laboratories.

Chef Vijaya Baskaran, Vice President, Indian Federation of Culinary Associations mentioned about  peppercorns and its analogy as a catalyst that facilitated and ensured important geographical discoveries including the Cape of Good Hope and the American sub-continent. Chef Vijay Malhotra of ITC Gardenia and Chef Naren Thimmaiah of Taj Gateway, Scientists from University of Agricultural Sciences and farmers shared their ideas and laid a path that can charter the growth of Malabar and Telicherry peppercorns worldwide.

The guests were served with a specially crafted menu that featured peppercorns all the way from starters to desserts. The menu included Black pepper crusted Macaroons, Green Pepper Ice cream, Chutneys, Fish with curry leaf and pepper. A variety of peppercorns and spices were displayed at the event.
