Homeshop18 will now be adding food items to its product range.
Homeshop18, a leading player in the ecommerce space will now be catering to the food and groceries need to go on a national level for the online consumers. This is in addition to its product range which currently includes apparels, home decor, mobile phones and many more categories.
Initially, the company will be launching the new product category with Olive oil, drink concentrates and mocktail syrups. In the coming months, the virtual retailer plans to widen this range by adding ready-to-eat items and many more food products for its customers.
As per Mr. Sundeep Malhotra, Founder and CEO, Homeshop18, the food category is being seen as a mainstream category and they aim to capitalise on the growing market.
HomeShope18 too, with its serviceable reach to a great extent in India, may find it tricky to deal within this category. India being an altogether different market, an online retailer, like HomeShope18, in order to be able to meet the expectations for pan India grocery demand, it will really need some innovations at the supply chain backend
