Thanksgiving is a day to sit down with your friends and family and thank them for the fortune bestowed upon us. Thanksgiving started with the pilgrims of Plymouth thanking the Native Americans for helping them get through a brutal winter. It is said that the feast lasted for three days where there was enough food for 53 pilgrims and 90 Native Americans.

The feast consisted of fowl, venison, fish, lobster, clams, berries, fruit, pumpkin, and squash. William Bradford's note reads that, "besides waterfowl, there was great store of wild turkeys, of which they took many, probably gave rise to the American tradition of eating turkey at Thanksgiving.”
