Floating hotels and restaurants and heliports, wheel on the lines of the London Eye are part of a major new plan to drive growth and tourism in the city by Gadkari, Minister for shipping, ports and surface transport.
A committee of experts has been set up by the shipping ministry to implement the plan on 1,800 acres of land owned by the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT).
Gadkari, said, "The committee, headed by former MbPT chairperson Rani Jadhav will submit the report in three months. Citizens can submit their suggestions to the committee which will also have experts like urban planners, landscape artists and transportation specialists."
The group will also appoint international firms for designing and the firm whose design will be selected will be given Rs 1 crore reward.
