Food Safety and Standard Authority of India has ordered Pushpam Foods and Beverages to recall its ‘Restless Energy Drink’as it contains irrational combinations of caffeine and ginseng which his harmful for human body.
The food safety has also directed the Pune based firm ‘to recall the existing product from the market under intimation to FSSAI as the same has been declared unsafe.’
And has also ordered immediate stoppage of manufacturing, sale and distribution of the product.
"It has been found on scrutiny that your aforementioned product also contains a formulation of ginseng and caffeine. Hence, keeping the aforesaid in view, the FSSAI is constrained to withdraw the NOC dated December 16, 2013 for the product.
"Restless Energy Drink and you are directed to stop the manufacturing/sale/distribution etc of the above products with immediate effect," FSSAI said in a statement issued on its website.
