ChennaiChef now falls in the domain of Aadya Restaurants

In a very interesting move, Aadya Restaurants has acquired ChennaiChef, a Sukashree Agro Foods's retail brand in an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, Hyderabad based startup Aadya Restaurants is planning to revamp the entire business strategies of ChennaiChef.

Ajay Koneru, Founder, Aadya Restaurants is working closely to standardise the quality and taste of the food across all the restaurants under his chain. Apart from that, he is also planning to include more food trucks to take his brand to the next level. According to him, the acquisition will help both the brands to explore many unfold business avenues that can pump enormous profits for the firms in the coming years.

He stated that company’s aim is to become the McDonald's of south Indian food. The firm saw synergy in ChennaiChef and wants to spread its wings into retail business, too. Aadya Restaurants will use ChennaiChef's products to prepare the food served at their quick service restaurants and food trucks through a centralised kitchen and also house those products for sale.

Currently restaurant operates only in Hyderabad but it is aiming to open another 36 quick service restaurants in the coming 18 months. These new eateries will be exploring the food market of Bengaluru and other cities of South India. To shape this plan, Koneru is looking to raise a fund of Rs 12-13 crore and is in talks with several parties.
