Cevico Group Investing In India

Cevico Group, one of the major wine systems in Italy, will enter the Indian market with an investment of EUR 100,000 by the end of this year. The Group is bringing in four new products—Merlot Sangiovese Rubicone IGT and Trebbiano Chardonnay Rubicone IGT under the brand name E'got; and two under the brand name Golden Sparrow, which consists of red and white wine.

Mr. Francesco Paganelli, Export Manager, Guppo Cevico, said, "We have 18 wineries under our belt. We want to offer great value proposition in terms of quality and price. Basically, we want to offer value for money. We are not here for sale. We have medium-type marketing plans where we try to deliver a good tasting wine. We want to let people judge our product that blends well with Indian food and is very light to drink."

Mr. Paganelli further elaborated "India is growing fast and so is its wine market, but it's getting costlier day by day. The taxes here are increasing at fast rate, which can be a problem for brands like us. In Italy, wine is tax-free and cheaper than in India."
