Carnation hospitality hires Consulting firm Deloitte

Carnation Hospitality, a New Delhi based company which has acquired Barista Coffee Co for about Rs 100 crore from Lavazza Spa in August 2014 has hired consulting firm Deloitte to advise on absorbing the business.

Talking to ET Retail, Sanjay Chhabra, Director, Carnation Hospitality, said, "Deloitte will help us in our foods business. We work with many other consulting firms for other projects."

Carnation Hospitality, a unit of Haryana-based packaging company Rollatainers Ltd has entered the food segment earlier this year acquiring restaurant chains Kylin and Sartoria and has interests in consumer packaging, restaurants and food services. The company is also planning a joint venture with IMM to set up Jamie's Italian Restaurants in the country.

Barista's ownership has changed hands at least thrice since its inception. Lavazza had acquired the coffee chain along with the Fresh & Honest coffee-vending machine business from Sivasankaran's Sterling Infotech Group. The Tata group too had owned the chain for a short period before selling out to Sivasankaran.
