The online grocery store raises $3 million.

BigBasket raises funding

BigBasket, the Bangalore based online grocery retailer has raised USD 3 million from a Singapore-based private investor. The company offers fruit & vegetables, branded food & non-food products, dairy products and confectionery and delivers products in six hours of an order being placed.

Commenting on the same, Hari Menon, Co-founder and CEO, BigBasket, said, “This is part of my next investment round where I am looking to raise USD 40-50 million funds.”

The company will soon move to Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Pune and has plans to enter Ahmedabad and Chandigarh shortly; presently they have active presence in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
