3D print chocolate now in India

Manipal Institute of Technology has launched first 3D printer named ‘Pramaan’ at Rs 75000 in April in India. The group has collaborated with a local bakery to get input and suggestions for the same.

Chocobot, is like a regular 3D printer, with the same design software but produces chocolates in different shapes and sizes. It takes about 40 minutes to print a plate of chocolates.

Speaking on the same, Prajwal Kumar, Head Marketing, Fiona's Bakery, Manipal, said, "It's a cost-cutting measure and it's new technology. Both serve well for a bakery startup like ours. Of Course there is the time constraint, but that does not bother us too much.”

Chocobot will be available at less than Rs 60,000 and is targeting foodies, bakers and local cake shops as target customer.
