Electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa eyes to expand dealer network to 500 in FY2021-end

Okinawa is planning to expand its dealer network by adding 150 dealerships by the end of the current fiscal. This will take its total dealership network to more than 500 outlets across India. The electric two-wheeler maker aims to target sub-dealers besides the primary dealers while expanding its footprints.

In a bid to support the partners amidst the unprecedented Covid-19 spread, the Gurgaon-based company has announced a hike in dealership margins from 8 to 11%.

Okinawa will be primarily targeting cities in the states of Bihar, Maharashtra, Assam, and the eastern region for expansion.

Jeetender Sharma, MD and Founder, Okinawa, said, “There is no doubt that it will take a little time for the market to pick up. While things gradually return to normalcy, we plan to grow ourselves across the country to serve the customers better.”

“As the Covid-19 curve flattens, there will be a demand for private vehicles. Given the fact that electric vehicles are economically more viable in the longer run, people would want to opt for it. We are spreading our wings to provide our customers across the cities with easy availability of the products and services,” he further added.
