Entrepreneur India-2011 Summit was held on July 15th & 16 at Hotel Claridges, Delhi. The event which was organised by Franchise India with Entrepreneur India Advisors and NASSCOM Emerge Forum as knowledge partners and Gitanjali Group as the presenting partner, concluded successfully. The show attracted around 250 delegates under one roof to learn, unlearn and relearn various facets of entrepreneurship.
In order to advocate the key need areas for entrepreneurship in India, several eminent business leaders of the country came together at Entrepreneur India-2011. The event was an attempt to address important issues and contribute to a better understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation and how to unleash the creative potential in individuals, companies and regions. The fabric of the conference was woven around the seven (I)s of entrepreneurship, which includes Inspire, Ideate, Individual, Incubate, Innovate, Invest and Internationalise.
Eminent speakers present on day one included Sam Chopra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, Remax, O.P. Manchanda, CEO, Dr Lal Path Labs, Shailesh Singh, Seed Fund, Ashwin Raghuraman, VP, India Innovation Fund, Himanshu Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO), IndiaPlus Fund, Vikas Gutgutia, MD, Ferns N Petals, Sankar Chakraborti, Head-Bank Loan Ratings, CRISIL, Seema Jhingan, Senior Partner, Lex Council, R. The second day of the conference was a hit among audience. The chief guest of the day was Shri Virbhadra Singh, Minister of MSME, Government of India. Subhasish Chakraborty, Founding Chairman & Managing Director acted as the ‘Devil’s Advocate’ asking for various schemes by the government to promote entrepreneurship, while S Venkat, Director, Wealthtree Partners’ expressed his views on internationalisation. The next session by marketing expert Harish Bijoor was well taken by the audience with his lively remarks. Bijoor stressed on the fact to never exaggerate or underestimate the company’s size to impress clients, which nearly every start-up does. Aloke Bajpai, Founder Ixigo.com, Rahul Sahgal, Founder & CEO, Annik Systems and Sunil Goyal, CEO, Sopra Group shared their experiences of reaching new heights. The last session of the day ‘Using social media to propel a business’ by Pradeep Chopra, CEO, Digital Vidya was also well received.
Entrepreneur India-2011, the two-day national conference, served its motive of providing a platform to the young and aspiring entrepreneurs to get a better understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation and how to unleash the creative potential in individuals, companies and regions. In order to commend entrepreneurs for contributing towards the growth of entrepreneurship in our country, Franchise India, also organised the prestigious Entrepreneur India Awards-2011 at Hotel Claridges, Surajkund. The event was presented by Gitanjali Group with NASSCOM Emerge Forum and Entrepreneur India Advisors as knowledge partners.
