Big Bazaar Direct is shifting gears from B2B Model

It used to follow a B2B model where the kiranas and the common men used to get an opportunity of starting business by becoming a Big Bazaar franchisee.

Big Bazaar, a retail entity of Future Group, is currently shifting gears from its current B2B model. It is the country’s second largest retail cooperation and as per its think tank, presently it is chalking a suitable model which can be a perfect replacement for the current one.

The Future Group stated that they are thinking of a better business model for Big Bazaar Direct and hence called off the present existing model for Big Bazaar Direct. According to the company’s website, it used to follow a B2B model where the kiranas and the common men used to get an opportunity of starting business by becoming a Big Bazaar franchisee.

As per the current business model, the franchisee used to sell the Big Bazaar products across the length and breadth of the country. The process was made very simple for franchisee as their involvement was only limited to take orders from the customers. Rest of the entire cycle of delivering the booked orders on to the customers’ door step used to fall under the periphery of Big Bazaar. The Agony doesn’t ends here, after going through the pain of delivering the goods, Big Bazaar also used to pay commission to the franchisee that miffed company the most.

Commenting on the development, officials of the Future Group stated that company doesn’t have big pockets. It is not saying that Big Bazaar Direct has been changed to so and so, but company is in a transition process and thereby, it will share the details when everything is finalised.

Vivek Biyanai, Director for the group who was heading Big Bazaar Direct said that he would not like to comment more on this and want to go ahead with the company’s statement.
