InterGlobe group announced the expansion of ibis, the international economy hotel brand of Accor with the launch of ibis Jaipur. This marks the opening of the first ibis hotel in Jaipur and eighth ibis in India.

Mr. Jean-Michel Cassé, Senior Vice President, Operations, Accor India, said, “We are extremely delighted with the opening of an ibis hotel within the important precinct of Jaipur. The opening of ibis Jaipur reiterates the importance of India in the expansion strategy for the ibis brand worldwide.”

InterGlobe Hotels currently has an active development program for 19 ibis hotels with 3,600 rooms across India, all of which will be operational by 2015.

Mr. Rahul Bhatia, Group Managing Director, InterGlobe Enterprises & Acting CEO of InterGlobe Hotels, said, “India has immense tourism potential and by offering world-class accommodation across an affordable price band, we hope to attract more business and leisure travelers. The inauguration of the ibis in Jaipur reinforces our commitment to the ibis brand, and we hope to open two additional properties in other cities before the end of this financial year.”

InterGlobe Hotels is a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and Accor. This was established in 2004, to develop a network of the ibis branded hotels throughout India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. InterGlobe Hotels is ramping up development in Tier-I and Tier-II cities with the ibis brand positioning it as the best value international hotel, offering comfortable accommodation at a very affordable price point.
