Yum! Restaurants sales drops
Third straight drop in sales in India.
Yum! Restaurants, which owns restaurant brands like KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell has reported its third straight drop in quarterly same store sales in India in the April-June period.
The brand recorded a two percent drop in its same-store sales in India when sales in its biggest emerging market, China bounced back in the quarter ended June.
According to the spokes person, Yum! Brands India, "India division system sales increased 18 percent, driven by 25 percent unit growth which was partially offset by a 2 percent same-store sales decline. The negative same-store sales growth is largely reflective of the current consumer sentiment and is in line with the category."
However the number of home deliveries of Pizza Hut grew by 44 percent year-on-year.
