Wonderchef to invest Rs 50 crore to expand its presence

Wonderchef, a premium brand presenting an exclusive and distinctive range of cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools and accessories by India’s most renowned Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, is planning to invest Rs 50 crore to expand in India and abroad.

Wonderchef has become a household name in India and markets over 400 products, mostly imported, to Indian homemakers in 5,000 towns and cities.

“Wonderchef is planning to set up a fully-integrated manufacturing plant in the country within a year, entailing an investment of about Rs 15 crore, while the rest of the money will be spent on expanding its sales and marketing network and promotional activities,” Ravi Saxena, Managing Director, Wonderchef said.

The company is also planning to tap the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia in the next three years.

"We are already among the top three brands in our segment in the country and are now looking for taking our marketing efforts to the next level in a bid to become a global Indian brand," he added.

Wonderchef has also roped in supermodel Ujjwala Raut as its brand ambassador. The company is also expecting a turnover of Rs 60 crore in 2014 and hopes to touch Rs 100 crore in 2015.

The company has its presence in Indian market through an omni-channel presence via retail, Internet, TV and direct marketing.
