Nestle USA to remove artificial flavours by end of 2015

Nestle USA has announced to remove artificial flavours and reduce salt by 10 per cent in its frozen pizza and snack product by end of 2015, reported Reuteurs.

This move will cover over 250 products sold under the Digiorno, Tombstone, California Pizza Kitchen, Jack's, Hot Pocket and Lean Pockets brands.

A unit of Switzerland's Nestle SA, the group will also provide tips on healthy eating and packaging on these products.

Restaurant chains and food companies are under pressure to offer less-processed products amid growing concerns that artificial colours and flavours could cause health problems.

Recently brands like Pizza Hut, Taco Bell owned by Yum Brands have also announced to remove artificial colours and flavours from their food.
