Ginger Hotels to expand

Ginger Hotels, a part of Roots Corporation Ltd, a subsidiary of the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is looking at franchise mode of operations to expand its footprint in India.

The group currently runs 30 properties across 24 cities in India and is planning to open 40 hotels by 2018.

PK Mohankumar, MD & CEO, Roots Corporation Ltd, said, “The properties that are operational in India are either Greenfield, Brownfield or lease projects. These hotels are across all the four zones, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western India. To further grow the brand in the Indian market, we are looking at franchise agreements.”

The group is looking at pilgrimage destinations such as Tirupati, Katra, Shirdi and Ajmer as its next target to open the hotel.
