Domino's sells over 4 lakh pizza everyday in India

Domino's, the world’s largest pizza chain has become the largest international market in India after US, reported ET.

The pizza chain which is run by Jubilant FoodWorks in India sells more pizzas in India than anywhere else outside its home country the US. The pizza chain is reported to sell four lakh pizzas every day, or more than 12 crore pizzas a year about twice the number of burgers McDonald's sells in India.

Meanwhile, Domino’s also overtook its UK counterpart in number of outlets which has increased to 818 in across 173 cities in the country to become the largest international market for the company outside the US.

"India is the only country where we are double the size of McDonald's. We believe we are scratching the surface. Over 15 million people are consuming us every year, but half of those consumers are consuming us only once a year,” said Ajay Kaul, CEO, Domino’s India.

Domino's is also planning to open 150 outlets every year and hopes to reach 1,500 to 2,000 outlets by 2020.
