Delhi inaugurates mango festival

Delhi Tourism Department has launched the two-day annual Delhi Mango Festival today at Dilli Haat in Pitampura.

The 26th Mango Festival will remain open from 12 noon to 9pm on July 11 and July 12, according to an official statement.

"The major highlights of festival include display and sale of rare as well as commercially popular mangoes, mango eating competition for men and women, mango quiz competition, magic show and cultural programmes by Sahitya Kala Parishad and Punjabi Academy," according to the release.

The festival will be inaugurated by Delhi Chief Secretary S K Srivastava. Delhi tourism has been organizing this festival since 1988 with the aim to provide exposure to the domestic mango industry.
