Carnation Hospitality to open over 550 Barista outlets in India

Carnation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Haryana-based packaging company Rollatainers, has since then acquired Maple foods business, which supplies food to hotels and corporate and has operations in the banqueting space and Kylin restaurants.

Carnation Hospitality to open over 550 Barista outlets in India

Carnation Hospitality which acquired Barista earlier this July is planning to open over 550 outlets in next five years, according to a report published in the Economic Times.

The new owner of the coffee chain is also targeting a sales target of over $50 million (about Rs 3,100 crore) for the fifth year.

The group which acquired Barista for less than Rs 100 crore is planning to increase the number of Barista from 198 to 750 by 2019.

Carnation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Haryana-based packaging company Rollatainers, has since then acquired Maple foods business, which supplies food to hotels and corporate and has operations in the banqueting space, and Kylin chain of casual and fine dining restaurants.

The group is also in talks with US hamburger chain Wendy's and Jamie's Italian, the Italian restaurant brand of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

The group said that, of the 550 outlets, 350 will be owned and operated by the company, while the rest will be run by franchisees.

"The company-owned and -operated Barista coffee shops will focus on high streets, malls and pop-up outlets and kiosks while the franchisee owned will be opened primarily across the Middle East and South East Asia," said, Sanjay Chhabra, Director, Carnation Hospitality.
