TI Cycles unveils BSA Go: Expansion through franchise TI Cycles of India, part of the USD 2.4 billion Murugappa Group, has recently opened its first “BSA Go” company-owned and company-operated outlet in Hyderabad. As a part of retail expansion, the company has a plan to open 120 exclusive stores in the country by March 2009. As of now, the company has 38 outlets, out of which 37 are franchised and one company-owned. This expansion drive will be fueled by Rs.30 crore, reveals BK Singh, Vice President ( Sales & Marketing), TI Cycles of India. Commenting on the essential requirements to set up a franchised store, KC Ramamoorthy, GM Retail, TI Cycles of India, informs that the BSA Go showroom should be located at high street with easy access and the availability of parking space. There should be substantial residential catchment area around. The store size may vary between 1200 -1500 sq. ft. with a façade of 29 ft. The franchisee would need to invest around Rs.15 lakh for interior and Rs.10 lakh for stocks. The franchisee needs to have prior retailing background and also an active interest in sports, fitness and cycling. BSA Go store will be one-stop premium store for all bicycling, fitness equipment, sports and infant products.
