Mumbai based Micro Technologies, retailing security products including IT enabled security Services, Micro Vehicle Black Box (MVBB), security for vehicles, and Micro home security systems, etc., is tying up with petroleum giant HPCL to set up its retail outlet, Micro Shoppee, at 500 HPCL petrol stations by this financial year end. The company has 100 Micro Shoppees across India and follows franchise model for expansion. Citing the reasons behind setting up outlets at the premises of HPCL, Vivek Rai, CEO, Micro Technologies, says, “We are using HPCL outlets for the brand promotion since HPCL is already using our products for theft and adulteration on their tankers and has also been awarded for this. HPCL has about 7000 outlets all over India. It also has maximum reach to the general public. This strategy will facilitate our Micro Vehicle Black box to reach out to vehicle users who are regularly visiting petrol pumps.” He also informs that for setting up a Micro Shoppee outlet one has to invest Rs.5-7 lakh, which varies from tier I to tier II cities. The store requires 500 sq. ft. of an area. Speaking on the desired qualities of the prospective franchisees he adds, “As this is a service based industry, we are looking for people who have experience in service industry or has an experience in automobile industry”.
